Drunken Stampers 98 Loves Die Hard

Welcome to the Lounge, the Drunken Stampers Lounge that is!!! :)

This week we are rediscovering things that we haven't touched in 6 months.... shoot, if you haven't gotten started on your Christmas cards you KNOW that was 6 months ago... I know it seems like yesterday, but... alas, it's RIGHT around the corner AGAIN.....

Well, I picked up these masks I think last year, maybe the year before (???) but had YET to use them.  They are from Tim Holtz and I used my Tattered Angels White Chalkboard spray (also never used) to create this very simple card.  Again I used my Twisted Sentiments (man these are finally getting a work out).... Viva Pearl Pens in black for his buttons....

Speedy Fox and Friends~Tags!!!

Hello Challenge Chasers!! :)  This week we are challenged to make a TAG!  Yup, I swear for being such a little thing it REALLY stresses me out.... I have a hard time making tags.

I did some layering with the new Doodlebug DP and some of the COOLEST Jingle Bell Brads from MFPaHC!!!!  Now... I know they are on a tag but I do NOT have any Brad Butts showing... UGH!  I HATE BRAD BUTTS!!!  I took a second piece of the DP and covered the back of the tag completely, thus covering up my butts! ;)

Here ya go!!!  I used Snowball Mini stamp set and the Jingle Bell Brads on this, all available by just clicking the names... Yup!  I hooked ya up with links! OOO!!  While getting the links for the brads I see there are MORE AWESOME Embellies recently added to the store!!!!  EEEK!  See ya there... time to SHOP!

MFT Guest DT Card 10-12

Hey Peeps!  Today I created a card for the My Favorite Things (MFT) Guest Designer Challenge.  You can read about the challenge HERE and chat with others about it HERE.  The announcement of the winner will be posted at the Release Party thread over in the MFT Forum on Splitcoast Stampers.  :)

Today I took this sketch

and kept the same visual look to it but used my BRAND NEW SHINY Spider Web Dienamic.  Yup, it's curved too ;)

I used the adorable Pure Innocence Stamp called Little Witch.  I did a bit of paper piecing with her dress using DP from Doodlebug.  I colored the rest with my Touch Twin Markers.  for the scalloped bottom piece on the sketch I mimicked the polka dots in the DP and used the Double Dot Border dienamic.  I wrapped some Orange netting around the bottom paper and then some Black ribbon, tied a bow and attached it using a glue dot.  The image panel is raised up using dimensionals.

Wish me luck and come play along.  Some lucky soul will be winning approximately $200 in goodies from My Favorite Things and gets to play along with the sneak peeks for the upcoming release and gets first look at the sketches for each week.  It's just like really being a part of the Tub Club! :)

Thanks for looking and leaving me some love!  Have an AWESOME Day!!!!!

C4C155~Thankful

Be Thankful or let's talk Turkey!  LOL  This week at Crazy4Challenges we are to make a Thank You card or one that celebrates Thanksgiving.  I went with the Thanksgiving challenge as I had a really cute stamp that I bought last year and never got to use!!!!  It's a pretty simple card with some Memento Ink for my image, I used some old PTI Distress Dots DP and some Prima blooms.  Easy Peasy right?  Well come on over and show us YOUR Thankful/Turkey cards!!!!  :)

Impression Obsession Nature Challenge

Playing along with the Impression Obsession Challenges this week.  The challenge is to create a Nature Inspired card... well, I just happened to come across this stamp today at my LSS and picked it up, ran home to see if I FINALLY had a IO Stamp that would fit the challenges... IT DOES!!!!  YIPPEE!!!!  I have a few IO Stamps but they haven't been fitting the challenges lately, but today... SCORE!!!! :)

I used the Impression Obsession Pumpkin Stack stamp (H1853).  I colored it with my Touch Twin Markers and highlighted various areas with my clear gel pen, including that hiding black cat! ;)  how fun is that, the artists frequently hides a black cat in his drawings.... do you see him???  eeek!  lol

Bazzill CS in Taffy, along with Bazzill DP from the All Hallows Eve Collection were used.  I added some fun orange ribbon that is all shiny and fun from the Ribbon Carousel September ribbon kit of the month and some jewels from Bo Bunny collection called Apple Cider!  That pretty much sums up this card.  Now head on over to Impression Obsession and play along won't ya?  They have some AWESOME dies that were released last month and word on the street is.... September 26th there will be a DIE HOP!  WHOOP WHOOP!!!!!  SO excited to see what they have released this month!!!!!

See ya there peeps!!!! :)

I chose to make a card for that special someone who let their hair down in another way! ;)  LOL Seriously, this is from the new release called Welcome Baby.  It is a SUPER cute set.  I also used the Small Postcard die for my images to sit on.

OK, ready for my card????

Mojo Monday meets Paper Smooches

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge time... Paper Smooches Vogue Abode was my choice for this card.  I chose to use MME Lavendar for my DP to go with the Color Challenge by PS Sparks!   I did some paper piecing and paper piercing.  My ribbon is from the Ribbon Carousel.

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch for this card!

MFTWSC89

I played again this week with the MFT Sketch (#89).  I used the PLL Manger set.  Some Simple Stories DP and colored my image with Touch Twin Markers.  The "brads" are Red Viva Pearl Pen.

Speedy Fox and Friends ~Favorite Technique

Hello Speedy Fox and Friends!!!  This week the challenge over at the Challenge Blog is to use your favorite Technique.  That is an EASY one for me!  I LOVE to do paper piecing.  The Dogwood Blossoms set from MFPaHC makes it super simple to do also.  Three layers of the DP were cut for each "section" of paper piecing for dimension.  I used Crate Paper for my piecing.

C4C154 Fall Fun

Hello there peeps!!!  It's time for another great challenge with the CRAZIES! :)  This week we are doing an Anything Goes but with a Fall Fun Twist! Well, lookie here... I just happened to have gotten in a new stamp from Your Next Stamp.  It's called Autumn Harvest.  I LOVE this set and couldn't wait to use it.  I also love a great sketch and since we had our sketch challenge last week here at Crazy Land, I used the Deconstructing Jen Sketch #68.  There isn't a time limit on this one so I will be posting after she posts a new challenge!  LOL  BUT... sometimes it's how we sacrifice for sketches! ;)

I used some New DP from Simple Stories and some TCP Twine on my card, some faux stitching (darn needle was too big for real sewing) and wonky scallop dienamicBazzill CS in Kraft was used as my base!  Now head on over to the Crazy4Challenges blog and let's see your Fall Fun!!!!

YNSC15 Friends

Guess who is on VACATION????  ;)

This week at the YNS Challenge blog we are challenged to make a Friend card.  LOL  The inside of this one talks about a true friend helps you stash your goodies!  **snicker**

I used A Good Friend stamp set and kept it pretty darn simple, letting the fun of the shopping bags do all the work!

Glitter Fun for MFPaHC

It's my turn to show you how to make a lil sumpin sumpin with Glitter... Here is my second half of the double dip from Saturday! ;)
**********************************************************************

Hello there Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Company Peeps!!!  Today I'm going to show you how to add a bit of sparkle to your cards using Glitter without leaving a horrendous mess of glitter sticking to you....

I am using the newly released set called Snow Gifts.  Adorable little snowman image!!!
First off you will need to gather your supplies, although there is not a big fear of a quick drying product, having everything ready to go makes things so much smoother.
Perma Tac ( I believe Stampin Up still sells this)
Stamping Ink for your coloring medium
Stamp
Sturdy Card Stock (I don't use my express blending when heating as it's easily burned)
Glitter
Dies
Versamark Ink
Heat Gun

Now stamp your image and color it to your liking...a fun thing with glitter it helps cover up minor oopsies (I have a double stamp line at his hat as I didn't have even pressure when stamping...)

Now run it through your die cutting machine I used a circle Spellbinders die.

Next take your versamark and cover the entire cut piece of card stock, it doesn't dry quickly so you have time to get good coverage.  Next dump on the Perma Tac and cover the entire image, just like you would with embossing powder, and then dump off the excess.

Take your heat gun and heat up the Perma Tac until it melts.  It takes a fraction of the time of embossing powder so watch it closely....  This is what it looks like when melted.

Now this stuff after heated and melted is sticky.  Stray cat/dog hairs will stick! ;)  Dump on your glitter covering the entire image and dump off the excess just like you did with the Perma Tac.
***
Now you are going to heat the glitter with your heat gun.  If you watch it closely you will see it looks like its popping, reminds me of what I think Rice Crispies might look like if they moved with the sound... LOL!  the second heating is a short period and what it does is re-melt the Perma Tac and make the glitter grounded on the Perma Tac.
***
This is what your glitter looks like after heated

Use some pop dots on the back, I included a picture of this as it's important to get one on all "corners" and in the center, you don't want a droopy image...

Mount this on your prepared cardstock and card base and VIOLA!  You have a Glitter Beautiful Snowy Glistening card!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

Now PLEASE REMEMBER... If you are sending card to our Troops NEVER EVER EVER USE GLITTER.... not even with this technique.  It will have minor flaking and we do NOT want to put our troops in harms way.  But for friends and family, what's a tiny speck of glitter amongst us huh? ;)

Kelli

Your Next Stamp~Cute Witch Ellie

Just playing today before I hit the road, I grabbed a new Stamp from Your Next Stamp called Cute Witch Ellie and colored her up, fussy cut her and popped her up on a background made from My Minds Eye ~ Lost and Found DP and a new die from Impression Obsession called Halloween Hill.   I added a circle punch of yellow Bazzill CS and cut a wedge out of it for a Crescent moon, and layered it under two clouds cut from Burlap using the Puffy Cloud die set from YNS.

Speedy Fox and Friends Red and White

Hello my Peeps!!!  It's time for another challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends.  This week we are to use Red and White.  I used the new Snow Gifts stamp set for my card. I also used a newer embossing folder to bring in that Christmas-y feel! :)  Some good ol' red/white dot ribbon and done! :)

***You will see this card again in 3 days with a Tutorial*** Yes, I double dipped! ;)

Drunken Stampers Challenge 98

Yep!  It's time for the Flirtini's to take over the Lounge... This week at The Drunken Stampers its "For the Birds" lol  Well, Crazy person that I am I ADORE the tacky pink plastic Flamingo's!  In fact if I had my way I would totally live in Florida and have TONS of these silly birds in my yard.

I used some Echo Park  DP for the card and paper piecing.  I added some Twine, a button and a dienamic (see it peeking out?)

My sentiment is from MFT from the Twisted Sentiments collection.

HA!  Now settle on up to the bar and let's see what you have for us!!!! :)

kj

C4C153 Sketch

Hello Crazy Peeps!!!  It's time for a new challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges ~ A SKETCH!!!  YES!!!! I LOVE a good sketch~

This week I went Christmas with my sketch!  I used SU! DP from last year, Avocado CS from PTI, my new Pine Boughs dies from Impression Obsession, Inspired by Christmas from MFT and a Dizzy Doily dienamic from MFT!!!!

I stamped the image and sentiment in VersaMark and used Gold EP.  I took my 24K Gold leafing pen (old as the hills) and used that to edge my card to tie in the gold EP!!!

YNSC14 Color Challenge

Hey There Peeps!! HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!!!!  Kids are back in school and I am already in vacation mode.  YAY!!!!!
I created this card using the current color challenge over at Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog.   Turquoise, Lime Green and Brown.  I used Snorkle Fun Fishy for this challenge!!! The large "bubble" behind him is the Flower Fun Scallop Die.

Echo Park Happy Days and some twine from The Twinery that is Turquoise and Brown combo, in the buttons.  Now for those buttons that the twine or ribbon just won't go through?  CHEAT!  lol  Yep, tie your bow or knot and use a mini glue dot to hold it there, that's what I had to do for my 3rd button... tee hee...

Inspiration Challenge 352 and Deconstructed Sketch 67

I played along for the FIRST time with the Inspiration Challenges over at Split Coast Stampers... We have to go to Olive & Cocoa website and use something from there for inspiration... I chose these GORGEOUS umbrellas!!!! BOHEMIAN PARASOL

I also played along with the Decontructed Sketch 67

Bo Bunny DP and some flowers from my friend Michele Boyer (I use these sparingly...i.e hoard) and an old Basic Grey brad.  A Shipping tag cut down and some pink jute.  The Umbrella is popped up using dimensionals.  Piercing around the edges and it covers the sketch! :)

The Umbrella/Parasol is from MFT it's the Umbrella Die and Stamp Combo.

Here's the sketch:

Speedy Fox and Friends~Sympathy

Hello and HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!!! :)

This week on Speedy Fox and Friends we are challenged to make a Sympathy card.  These usually come together pretty easily for me as I don't think Sympathy cards should have a bunch of fluff on them.... I kept mine extremely un-fluffed... But I DO love it!  I used Tree Greetings and Thankful Mini for my stamp sets.
